What was the normal weather in the area 30 years ago? What was the land cover like 30 years ago, what were the main agricultural systems? What was the situation of the economy, food security? Protect and plant trees to limit land degradation. An increase in the planting and protection of trees has been reported in half of the villages visited, this has been supported by local institutions that have enacted regulations that prohibit the cutting of trees and also by projects like this that promote gum arabic .
